The “Playbook” Rules

Inside, you’ll find a Playbook on creating Playbooks: the keys to mastery and flow. Learn the process behind how to use them and when to create them.

The “Playbook” Rules:

When needing to do or solve something, before asking in WhatsApp:

  1. Search the Knowledge base (https://wootrecruit.com/knowledge) for a playbook using key words
  2. If it doesn’t pop up on first try, ask openly in Slack: “Is there a playbook for ___?”
  3. If the answer is “No”:
    1. Add the question to the “Backlogs” column of the Playbook project board on Asana
    1. See if someone can help with the answer to your question.
    2. Volunteer that person to create a new Playbook to share their knowledge.
    3. Add that “Assignee” to the Playbook on the “Backlogs”
    4. Win 🔥
  4. If the answer is “Yes”:
    1. Find out the name of the Playbook
    2. Solve your question/problem
    3. Update the Playbook tags based on how you searched for it initially, adding any relevant keywords
    4. Win 🔥

If you have recently overcome an obstacle or have confidence in a task, add it to your Playbooks and start documenting.

Remember these key rules when creating a Playbook:

  1. Document the process without overthinking with the idea of perfecting it the first time.
  2. Expect it to be incomplete
    1. Ready, Shoot, then Aim: Get 80% of the concept down in 20% of the time. You will come back later to perfect it!
  3. Return to it once you have the time and ability to elaborate.
  4. Be sure to use plenty of Photos and Videos to support the documentation
  5. If uploading videos, make sure to add them to the Google Drive folder here and embed them using these steps
  6. Continue adding to past playbooks over time as you discover new pieces to add and perfect towards our definition of done.

Empower others by sharing your knowledge through Playbooks and free up time for new and creative ideas!
